HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Our first day back and yes! a good start to
the week with all the children appearing to settle in really well, including
the new children that started . They were surprised to still see ‘Santa’s’
reindeer outside ( Mags had made out of logs) and said “oh gosh Santa has left
one of his reindeer, …….oh well we will look after him” !
We have quite had a few new children join
us this week, and they have had an enjoyable week. It has been lovely to watch
some of the children start to help others with their shoes and coat, but also
sharing the resources when they see that someone wants something.
The Monday morning yoga sessions was much
enjoyed especially the relaxation time ! "
Some of the children also enjoyed making a ‘boat’
outside out of the crates and woodblocks, they especially enjoyed being rescued
by superhero ‘spiderman’!
The children have enjoyed using tools to break the
ice to get the animals out, one boy was using a plastic spanner to try and he says
to adult after not being able to break much ice off, "I think I need a
bigger tool" and walks off and then he returns back to the table holding a
plastic chainsaw!!!!
There was lots of good remembering and
thinking about keeping the environment and ‘ourselves safe’ at Forest School on
Friday morning.
The younger ones at Broadway Playschool
seemed very happy to be back with their peers, we observed some lovely
interaction between them during play. A couple who were new to the group
settled very well and enjoyed the morning. They were involved in making play dough
and ‘New Year’ firework pictures by 'splitting' teabags with paint and
glitter.
