This week ‘Stick man’ appeared and
the children began to tell stories and get involved in ‘Stick man’s’ life! When
doing the ‘Stickman’ story sack with the children it was lovely to see how they
were re-enacting the story afterwards themselves with ‘Stickman’ props from the
storysack. There was lots of interaction between the children. It has been great
fun. Also listening to lots of lovely comments about why
'Stickman' appeared in the Playschool playhouse, and how he could get home! Their
role play is really developing now, with some children playing with the
Doctor's sets and resetting ‘Stickman’s’ broken arm ! He even came to Forest School to see if he could find his family tree??
The children have enjoyed making collage
using a variety of resources on our BIG collage table. They have also used the resources to do some costume
design. Some had a go at making outfits for the dolls and even created
costumes for themselves, a lovely feathery dress and an impressive 'Coat of
Armour'.
At Broadway Playschool the children have
been helping prepare snack with careful cutting. The block play is developing though
the children discovered it does take much longer to pack away than it does to
get out ! They are enjoying ‘Kipper’s
Toy Box’ but ‘Whats in the box?’ is still a firm favourite.
